Before & After

After shifting 1 tonne of gravel and waiting a few weeks I just wanted to share my new and improved patch of the garden.

Hopefully you all can tell which is the before and which is the after. Only problem now is figuring out how to keep the gravel clean of the damn leaves that keep falling on it. Any ideas anyone? image

Wow!  What an improvement!  Excellent work.. it looks so inviting, I want to go explore where the path leads.

I use a small child's leaf rake for my random leaves.  Nice and narrow, and as it's so cheap and has a plastic handle I've taken to leaving it outside against a wall for whenever I'm walking by and see something needs tending.

    Great job Nicky  image

I know what you mean about leaves- but it's also very satisfying when you clear them all away image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I love having 'before' photos to check with afterwards.   Your path is so smart now, Nicky, bet you are very proud of yourself.   I also have this leaf problem, can't rake them off, can't hoover or blow them off, just end up with a dirty looking path for next year.image   Hope you have better luck.

I did try putting a sock over the hoover and turn it to low setting and that worked to some degree from there it would only pick up the leaves. But it was a long and slow process.

Hey, Blue Onion, I'll try that child's rake trick.   Thanks for the idea.

I'm sure that took hours and hours (and days) but it was worth the effort. Lovelyimage.
