Can I move a clamattis now it's a few years old

    You could propagate it by layering (pegging down a stem) then move the young rooted plant next year, or have a go at cuttings. I'm not sure the old plant would move very well, I've never tried.

    You can do whatever you want in gardening, but there are optimum times and conditions that must be met 

    Is it worth the risk? Or can it wait until a better time which would be autumn? 

    You would have to sacrifice all flowers this year/next year depending on variety and put it in intensive care, it would also depend on its size and how difficult it's extraction would be.

    There's NO guarantee of success, saying that I've done worse and got away with it...my best guess without knowing it's size and location is wait until autumn when it will be in the mood more image

    i moved a montana that had  been in deep shade, i put it in a pot and brought to our new house, it has a long woody stem which i've covered with other plants mostly but now flowers well, i moved it just after flowering time
