clematis wilt?

My two year old clematis has been healthy and happy scrambling over an arch and into a tree. But I have spotted a couple of areas where the leaves look really limp all a sudden, we have had a warm spell with colder nights, I watered in case it was dry. Could it be Wilt if so what can I do, not sure what to look for.

It could be clematis wilt which is a fungus without a picture I don't know could describe it more? Have they changed colour?

Not wilt, it does not get Clematis montana. Easy enough to tell, Wilt starts at the bottom of the stem and works up. If the leaves are drooping from the top of the stem downwards then it is something else. Look at the base of the 'wilting' stem and see if something has eaten the bark off it. Snails love rasping away at Clematis stems and then that stem will die back.

Sometimes the wind can grab a Montana. Their leading stems are as long as arms and get tangled together and miss the support provided

I've found this happen occasionally with my clematis at this time of year - it's almost as if they outgrow they're strength - the top portion of a shoot wilts, but it sends out sideshoots and grows away again.  Fingers crossed that'll happen to yours image
