Any hope for my gardenia?

i protected my gardenia bushes from the frost and have ensured they have had sufficient water but theit leaves have turned crispy and brown. Is there any hope? Should I prune the leaves as the steMs are stil green or leave them to drop off?

They wer bought as hardy outdoor gardenia. Ironically I have had an email from Thompson and morgan today about the same plants (although bought from a different company!)
