Excess Plants
Hi folks, every year I grow way too much and this year is no exception. I usually compost (regretfully) what I don't use or pass on to family but this year everything seems to have grown on and I have loads of veg and flower plants that I'm just not going to be able to use.
The thing is, I have no idea who to donate them to. I would like them to go to a charity or similar, who use gardening for therapy etc.
Has anyone ever donated before and any tips on finding somewhere local to me in Staffordshire.
Many thanks.

Have you thought about a local school? Lots of primary schools have a garden area these days and the kids love getting their hands dirty whilst learning about 'real' food.
Freecycle?
Guerrilla gardening?
Maybe contact your local allotment and find some newbies?
What Dorcas said. I discovered some tomatoes had seeded themselves so I planted them up and gave them to my nephews school. I'm going to do the same with surplus strawberries too.
All good suggestions thank you. I think it will be local schools maybe or there is a psychiatric unit near me attached to the hospital and I could try there too. Many thanks.
Don't know what part of Staffordshire you are in, but theDouglas Macmillan Hospice on Stoke on Trent may well appreciate them. My aunt received care and support from them and I now they have lovely grounds, and are also always trying to raise funds.
Not quite the same, but I had far too many seed potatoes so I put the surplus on Freecycle. They went within hours
Ooh JoJo I'm in Stoke on Trent and never thought of Dougie Mac. I've just thought of the Donna Louise Hospice too. I'll give them both a try, thank you.
