Garlic spray is great for fruit trees too.Buying garlic spray for them works out pretty expensive though so thanks for the recipe Blue Dragon.I've been told another way to make a good all round spray is to put all your onion/garlic peelings in an old container with just enough water to cover them as you add more peelings, and cover.Trouble was I had forgotten I had started doing it and when I eventually opened the container the smell would have wilted anything within a 5 mile radius!!!
I had a problem with aphids on my sweetpeas last year - hung up a birdfeeder, and within a week they were gone. Those blue/great/coal tits did a fantastic job
