Peach Tree Disease
Hi everyone, my patio peach tree was good and fine and produced spectacular pink flowers in march. But for the last few weeks, the flowers dried up and the leaves curled up and withered. Today I saw white powdery residue on the curled up and ruined leaves. I sprayed it with bug killer last week but it didn't help. Can anyone tell what it could be?

Plants are usually susceptible to powdery mildew when they are under stress from being too dry at the roots. Is its pot big enough? Has it been regularly watered?
If you are using a fungicide make sure that it is suitable for use on edible plants.

Ok, that's better than a pot - but we did have a very dry spell in April (at least we did here) so maybe it was dry at the roots?

Aha! That was it - it was unusually dry. I don't think any permanent harm will have been done but if it's having to grow a second new set of leaves this spring I wouldn't let it produce any fruit if I were you - that would be quite a bit of stress for a young plant, so if it develops any little ones I'd pick them off.

Thank you once again, Dove!
