New to Gardening and need advise

Hello

We bought a house September last year which has a nice sized Garden, that looked to have been pretty well looked after.

With the weather improving we have ventured out to start using it. So I started by cut and trimming the grass and in doing so discovered that a central area of bushes was in fact an over grown raised bed so I started to trim that back as well to further discover a small pond.

I am not sure how to go about cleaning it up as i have seen that it has frogs in and would like some advise on how to proceed

    Welcome Steve.

A new garden is a wonderful journey of discovery.

I agree with pansyface, and my dear late mother who was fond of saying " never trouble trouble: until trouble troubles you"

Leave it over the summer months and keep an eye on what's in it and what visits it.

If there's nothing there at the moment, make sure you have an area shallow enough for hedghogs to get out if they fall in. A ramp made from a piece of timber will suffice but you'll need a couple of bricks at the bottom to hold it down under the water.
