I think I gathered the seed for this Aquilegia 2 or 3 years ago and I don't remember where from. It is unlike any of the others I have. The colour is not one I can find on the internet and the flower itself is very small compared to others I have seen or own. Can anyone help?

It was the clearest photo I could get this evening.

could it have been cross pollinated.?
No Maureen (well not in my garden) I wish it had, this is the first year of flowering for all of my Aquilegias.
I get a lot like that, they have self-seeded all over the place. I pull out the small-flowered, muddy-coloured ones and keep growing fresh ones from bought seed.
If its seed grown, it can be totally different from any other aquilegia. Aquilegias are very promiscuous.
You can call it what you like.
Landgirl I love the colour, it may not come across in my picture but it is a deep burgundy.
Fidgetbones it is grown from seed, all planted about 2 years ago, all coming into flower this year. I shall call it Aquilegia Inquieto (latin for Fidget!)
Lovely plant Sara- and a lovely new name for it. Perfect!
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
do aquilegia only flower in the 2nd year then, i have planted out some which i have grown on from plugs that i received in dec ?
I find it that aquilegias grown from seed and planted in the ground in Autumn will flower the following year.
