Moving a tree

Hi all,
Going to be moving a 7ft palm tomorrow, believed to be some variety of trachycarpus.
Just wondering what is the best way to go about it? How much root should I take?

Amount of root. As close as you can get to all of it
This applies to any tree or shrub, Stake it to keep it stable, 7 foot is quite tall and will catch the wind
