Cosmos Seedlings
in Plants
Hi all, I sown cosmos seeds just over a month ago in a unheated greenhouse, the seedling have been out of the compost for 2-3 weeks now, although they seem to be under two inches tall and only one true leaf on them, will these suddenly take a growth spurt? Sown earlier last year, however left till later this year as they were too leggy. Unsure of the variety but the flowers are a deep red.
Thanks

Nearly forgot to plant Cosmos this year!! Only planted up my seeds on Wednesday! They are already through, today (phew), and are normally quick growers so not worried about being behind! I'm sure your seedlings will be fine! Once consistent warmer weather arrives they'll surge ahead!

Have sown Cosmos Cupcakes very good germination and Purity (white) reasonable start them in my South facing bedroom windowcill. It does say 20-25 deg for germination. Then they go into the conservatory, then the cold greenhouse.
Mine need pinching out too as some are starting to flower. I also have a couple of delphiniums and geums budding. Should i pinch these out too?
Gosh, Lulu how do you sow seeds with your great furry paws, never mind pinch out, I thought my dog was clever! He can tell the time.
Yep I can too. I always know when its 6:30pm and me and Zippy gang up on Mum demanding dentistix
my cosmos seedlings are about 8" tall with all the frilly leaves at the top so look leggy, should i:
a) pinch them out (there are no flowers yet)
b) repot and bury them deeper (they are in 5" pots at the mo)
P.s my dog also can tell the time and wooowoowoos at 4.15pm precisely, bit confused when the clocks goes back
OH, YOU CANT GET NEAR MY DOG WITH ANYTHING VAGUELY HEALTH DENTASTIX, TOOTHBRUSH, HAIRBRUSH FLEA STUFF, HE GRABS IT OUT OF YOUR HAND AND RUNS AWAY AS THOUGH YOU ARE WEILDING A MEAT CLEAVER! I HAVENT PINCHED OUT THE COSMOS, I TURN THEM EVERY DAY AND THE CHANGING OF CLOCKS CONFUSES MY HUBBY AND I BUT NEVER ANY OF OUR DOGS THEY STILL ALWAYS KNOW THE TIME
