what weed killer

as i have moved into a new rented house i have had to replant all my plants and rocks.

created a nice japanese rockery with a mountain scene on the large raised veg patch that is here.

but as was a veg patch they asked me to not use a certain weedkiller, im not sure which.

i now have lots of.. maybe weeds growing, small things much like cress growing all over.

what can i use to get rid of and keep the rockery looking perfect?

------------- funny thing is i have lots of gaps and do need more plants and wanted low growing green stuff but not these type of things

thanks

i did think so or another idea i heard was a small blow torch

What's the point in that?  Just do what gardeners have been doing for centuries - it's much the easiest way image and it has the added advantage that if you accidentally pull up something precious you can replant it - you can't do that if it's been scorched to death image

Sounds like bitter cress which explodes thousands of seeds around the garden if you let it flower. Pull them all out by hand, very easy but tedious. Blow torch or weed killer rather OVERkill

i read up a blow torch is quite effective if obviously careful, kitchen type

maybe ill get time at weekend and manually pull

not sure if bitter cress, its tiny little leaves that creating a mass of green

when pull not much comes and dont think anything left behind but hard to tell

A hoe used correctly is pretty easy and efficient.

got my weed blow torch, great idea, works well and cleaned loads up without spending ages digging and disturbing the soil

my best buy of the year

  • I also liked the weed blow torches. It's a lot easier than picking everything by hand. Before I got mine, my back was practically killing me from all the time I spent bending to pick the unwanted greenery. But now this unpleasant chore even seems fun to me.
