Hi there I recently bought some gazinia, osteospermum and Arizona blanket flower and was wondering how hardy they were and would they serve as perrenials. Thanks

hi Phil, I have overwintered osteospermum in the greenhouse as I liked the colour.  As to gazania, don't like them so have never bought them and have no idea what Arizona blanket flower is.  I'm sure someone more knowledgable will be along soon.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

Gazania might cope with mild winter.

Don't count on any of them to do so, though

I've just popped out to look at my Gaillardia, planted last year - I knew it was risky as to whether it would survive the winter here in Norfolk, especially in my front garden which can be chilly - no sign of it yet image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Yes Verdun I mean gaillardia. And I hope they all survive tbh I'm in the Midlands and this winter was quite mild so hope they will last once I plant them

My gaillardia has survived the last couple of winters but I lost one over the previous winter. I've overwintered a gazania in the greenhouse but it didn't survive this winter left outside.

They certainly do not survive the winter here in the very West Midlands.
