Tomato seedlings

went into the greenhouse this morning and found some of my tomato seedlings have had the leaves completely taken off, just tiny stems left image any idea what has eaten then, I noticed some ants in the greenhouse but I wouldn't have thought it was them. do you think the leaves will grow back, they seem to have good roots.

I'm not sure if they will. Are there any trails from slugs or snails that might be hiding in your greenhouse? At least you still have time to get some more seeds planted for a later harvest.

hi lovelillie, I agree with clarington, ants dont eat them. It will be even the tiniest of slugs that are the culprits. germinate more seeds in the airing cupboard to help speed things up. take out and transfer to greenhouse once signs of germination appear.

I do all my seeds this way. just pop inside a small bag with some compost and dampen, 100% every time I do it this wayimage

Maybe it might be an idea to grow the plants indoors until they are big enough to fight off slug attacks. If you have a sunny windowsill you can leave the plants there until they are about 10 cm tall, then transfer them to the greenhouse.

    Mice also do this.

Agree with Bob, this is mouse damage, check for holes at ground level and leave door open during the day with some bait incase you have one trapped inside
