When to repot?
in Plants
Hi guys,
How do you all know when to repot from propagation trays into small pots?
Thanks for any help.

I do the first pricking out of seedlings into modules when the first true leaves of the plant appear.
For bedding / container plants that is usually all that's needed until I use them. For perennials that need to grow on - those go into pots when the roots start growing out of the bottom of the tray.
Similarly, I pot on cuttings when I can see the roots.
Hope that helps.
Hi Justin
I prick my seedlings out when they've got at least two true leaves (not the first pair of seed leaves).
All you need to know in this video http://www.gardenersworld.com/how-to/projects/basics/how-to-prick-out-seedlings/298.html

I have some perennials in propagation trays will cell inserts but the cells are looking a little congested and I'm not sure if they are strong enough to be separated and repotted into their own smaller pots.
Can you post a picture Justin?

Will do later on
Justin can you also clarify if we're talking about seedlings or cuttings / other vegetative propagation?
I think Dove and I are both assuming seedlings....
