Ivy Root
in Talkback
The boundary wall belongs to the neighbour, but the Ivy roots are on my side of the wall. The neighbour does not want me to cut and or get rid of this Ivy as it touches her wall. She says if I do anymore of cutting of the branches she will take further actions. What do I do in this situation

You can cut anything that's on your side back to the boundary, there is nothing she can do, just offer the branches back to her.
I agree with you, but she harps on that because it is her wall, I am not allowed to get rid of the ivy. She has threaten to go legal if I do.

if its on your property you can do what you like to it, as long as you offer the cuttings back to her, after all ivy is not a protected species.
I understand that she can't stop me cutting a plant, and as I said before the roots of the Ivy are on my side of the boundary wall. She is not a very nice person, and would not like her sue me because it is her wall. I would love to get rid of all the ivy roots.
I know that Ivy is not a protected species, and that is not the argument with this woman, it is her wall.
Leave the ivy on the wall, she'll want it off when it's dead

I'd like to see any police officer take it very far if she reports you (and she would have to to make it a criminal act). she might even get done for wasting police time.
if she is like that id poison the ivy and claim you didn't do anything, without physical damage there'd be no evidence of plant tampering!
Thank you all for your comments, and I will see what happens next. May come back for more help at a later date.
You can cut or dig up the ivy roots if they are on your property. If that kills the ivy so be it. If your neighbour wants ivy growing on her wall she can plant some.
However, I understand the problems of difficult neighbours and you don't want to fall out if you don't have to. Ivy can be very good for wildlife - would it be preferable to just keep the ivy clipped neatly on your side rather than kill it?
