  • Maybe a good feed ?  Having said that, I don't feed mine and I garden on free-draining sandy soil. Does the bark and the leaves look healthy?

Do you ever see pigeons in the tree? or bullfinches?

You say no flowers for the last two years, which implies it flowered before that. Is this right?

I had a mature cherry tree which apparently stopped flowering. On inspection the buds were forming but then vanishing. The leaves were full of holes and there were lots of green shiny beetles - quite pretty. I think they were rose chafers.

The tree was way too big to spray, but the problem went away when I put up bird feeders nearby. The birds, especially the tit family, all queued in the cherry while waiting their turn and ate all the bugs!

The tree has been in situ for about 6 years and has flowered even year except the last 2 years. As far as I can see there hasn't been eating it. The bark looks healthy with no splits in it. Might have to resort to drastic actions if a solution can't be found! Maybe giving it a good prune in the summer might help or failing that cut it down dig it out and start again!
