Maybe a good feed ? Having said that, I don't feed mine and I garden on free-draining sandy soil. Does the bark and the leaves look healthy?
bark looks healthy.Had loads of leaves last year and year before.some leaves starting to develop but alas no flowers.
Do you ever see pigeons in the tree? or bullfinches?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
You say no flowers for the last two years, which implies it flowered before that. Is this right?
I had a mature cherry tree which apparently stopped flowering. On inspection the buds were forming but then vanishing. The leaves were full of holes and there were lots of green shiny beetles - quite pretty. I think they were rose chafers.
The tree was way too big to spray, but the problem went away when I put up bird feeders nearby. The birds, especially the tit family, all queued in the cherry while waiting their turn and ate all the bugs!
