nettle fertiliser

My husband has been brewing a nettle fertiliser for about 12 months and is wandering whether he could bury the stalks in the bottom of his raised veg beds?

Yes, no problem there.  They could also go on the compost heap if you have one.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Hehe.. you're fine, after 12 months there should be nothing but fiber and a bit of slurry left.  Extended soaking is a great way to kill off those invasive weeds prior to adding them to your compost.  Some seeds may survive the soaking, so don't add weeds that have gone to seed, but other things like bindweed, etc will die off after three or four weeks soaked in a dark bucket.  The water can be used as a 'tea' for your plants just as the nettle tea.. or else just dump the whole mix on your compost heap.
