cleavers

Hi all,I am a bit new to gardening. we have a very bad problem with cleavers it is everywhere, we are trying to pull it out before it seeds again. Is there any poision that you could recomend that wont harm a privite hedge as some of the monster is entangled deep in one. thank you

    It's an annual. just pull it off, it won't regrow

    I agree, it's easy to pull out - it's just that it grows really quickly in the spring and you think it's going to take over, but it's easy to weed out as you can feel where it is if you weed without gloves, just pull it out and bin it image

    Beware though, it has a nasty trick of breaking off just above the roots, so then it will grow again.



    They are so easy to remove I certainly wouldn't waste weedkiller on them.

    Some people are allergic to cleavers - may be useful to wear rubber gloves if you have a tendency to eczema etc.  image
