How tough is chard vs a clumsy gardener?

ecokidecokid Posts: 138

Unfortunately, while I was repotting my vulkan chard into a larger pot the lower half of root system fell away, leaving the main root tributary with a few lesser roots in tact. I've never grow chard previously and so I was wondering whether it is likely to survive the ordeal? It's about seven inches and has 3 sets of adult leaves. I hope it's early enough in the season for it to recover. I'm so annoyed with myself as it was my best specimen! Definitely having a bad gardening day! image

Ecokid, I've only grown rainbow chard and as a late Autumn/ winter crop, I'm still picking it image I assume it will survive your bad day image However I think if you grow it now it will bolt in hot weather. Might be that Vulcan chard is a summer crop but it is a new one to me.

Might be better to re-sow. They are easy plants to raise.
