Ivy leaves turning black

I have noticed today that the newly formed leaves on my long established ivy are turning black. The ivy is at least 20 years old and grows up a sunny brick wall. I've never seen this happen before - can anybody help?

I agree Pansyface - sounds like frost on tender young leaves - it'll grow some more image

Thanks for replies. Very slight frost - but nowhere near as cold as winters past. I hope Dove from above is right and that only the tender leaves are affected. Time will tell!
