Yes, it's a type of aloe - possibly Aloe aristata - I have a large clump which blooms every year.  I keep mine indoors on a north-west facing windowsill, very potbound in a gritty compost.  I give it a very occasional dribble of water in the winter and in the summer I give it a good soak by immersing the pot in a sink of water for several hours then allow it to drain.  In the summer mine goes outside on the terrace in a semi-shaded position but you have to look out for snail attacks and also don't leave it in strong sunshine as the plant can scorch.

Yours may well be fine on a sunny windowsill if it's used to it - we don't have one so I'm careful not to put it in too much sun outside - like us, plants have to acclimatise to sunshine image

Looks like a haworthia to me.  Not sure which variety though.  Possibly a baccata or herbacea.

(I bought a haworthia last year and it's just had little babies that I've potted up.  I didn't even know she was pregnant).

You may well be right - they all look very similar - hard to tell from a photo image
