Peach leaf curl
Hello, I wonder if someone could help
We planted a three year old peach tree two years ago and last spring it was swamped with leaf curl. Gradually it lost all its leaves and grew a new set but no fruits. I managed to get hold of some bordeaux mixture but after reading the millons of labels it came with, I decided not to spray it in autumn on account of our free-range chickens.
Sure enough, this year it's leaves are once again covered with the dreaded curl. I carefully pick every affected leaf off and faithfully sweep underneath the tree to get every last fallen one, but no faster than I've done this another set of leaves are curling.
The tree today looks like it's suffering terribly and I'm wondering if I should just cut my losses and pull it out? Is there anything I can do to help it at this stage or do I leave it alone to fight? I would hate to have to get rid of it.
thanks ????

Hi SSP, Good advice from Verdun.
I grow a variety called 'Avalon Pride' which is very resistent to curl. Some leaves still get affected, but very few - maybe a couple of dozen total. It has just come into leaf and no sign of PLC at all yet:
It produces full-size lovely juicy peaches.
Thanks both. Had such high hopes for my little tree.
hang eggshells in a net from the tree. worked wonders for my peach tree last year. All the leaves uncurled! then you can use the eggshells against slugs or in the compost afterwards
Maybe the Crack ed egg shells frightened away the curl .

Old wives tale Verd

It works for us in France. Recommended by neighbours.
