What Alan is it you actually want to know-I guess the test kit comes with instructions?-just a bit confused
HI chanel what i want is to know if anyone has advise of which to buy or not to buy and where did they get them many thanks
Alan
Go to a garden centre and see what they've got. I got mine in a GC, but I can't remember which make it was now.
You can get the probe type like this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-SOIL-TESTER/dp/B001AGRK42
which you can obviously use again
or the one off type where you add a soil sample to a chemical in a small bottle-depends on how often you want to test it I suppose
cheers chanel the one on net looks good
many thanks all
When I started this garden 11 years ago, I used a soil tester (the type where you add water to soil in little container). It struck me then that I might just be measuring the ph balance of the water! The result was around 8 on the ph scale, so have assumed the soil is pretty alkali, but also bearing in mind my comment above. Is there anyone who knows a bit about this to comment on these kits?
