planting wild garlic that's in the green

I've been growing it in pots for a few years now and it's starting to self seed around now. I keep the pots in a nice shady spot until they're getting ready to set seed and them move them to likely looking places. I started with a small pot of them from the garden centre and I think that helped get past that stage of planting in the green. I've transplanted 5 pots of seedlings dug from the ground in front of the greenhouse door and they seem to have taken well now too. Maybe have a go with them in pots, I think I just mixed some molehill soil with leaf mould for the first ones and they seemed to like that.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Thanks! I did put some in a pot too. Not been at home during the light for a while, so I've not had chance to see if that's coming up. I have a feeling I didn't plant it in clumps, as recommended (which made the whole process very tedious) nbut maybe some will come up. If it took over the areas around the bases of shrubs I really wouldn't mind, but given that nothing else will grow there other than grass, that may not happen. (Or it will get pulled up with the grass!)

I have been trying to get rid of wild garlic for years without any success, so believe it can be planted anyway, anytime, anywhere.

Well a tiny bit has come up in my herb patch, but just a couple of leaves (out of 20 plants I planted?)! But better than nothing :)

    Hi @REMF33 :)
Id keep it dampish and out of full sun (and tell the gardeners that anyone touching it will be cursed).
We’ll keep our fingers crossed 🤞

    Hello Dovefromabove  :)

I may actually curse them! Need to find one first though. Latest one has bowed out.

That may be a blessing! 😆

     Shame you’re not nearer ... I know someone who’d suit you ... 😉
