You have my sympathies Carney!  We have a very similar problem with our neighbour behind us who is an absolute pain with noise from cars and from his garage!  Due to him cutting some trees down we were also left with no privacy from his side windows and we have gone for Cherry Laurel for fast growing dense screening.  Mine is currently growing in a similar sized gap between my fence and greenhouse but getting big very quickly so I fear greenhouse will have to go - privacy is more important to me and it won't be getting any sun/light soon! I have a pyracantha to add to my screen too but is growing nowhere near as fast as the laurel.  I also have a Solanum Crispum which has grown very quickly and is semi evergreen and is currently supported by a trellis on stilts next to the fence - might be another option?

  • Many thanks abby2. It's such a shame isn't it when some people have no regard for others. I have two autoimmune illnesses and energy is short so extra worry or work isn't good for me. I have lived here for over 30 years and ave made our Arden lovely. We have so many birds who live the trees. They nest and we get such pleasure from their antics. We have two cats an a dog and they get along. We have a sparrow hawk right down to long tail tits, goldcrests, all the tits and finches its great.
