thanks bob, i think i did ok, I'm sometimes a bit lazy about planting bulbs deep enough in the garden, which probably explains why some of daffodils and tulips haven't flowered, getting deep in our heavy clay in autumn while 2 little ones continuosly chorus "MUMMY!!!" is too much like hard work!!!
I have planted four tuberose in pots in John innes and left what I think is the top poking out the top, I have been keeping them in my plastic grow house and not a sign of anything! Guessing they are too cold outside reading what Bob has said don't know wether to bring em in the warm or just give up for dead?!! i planted about a month ago
Yes, bring them inside Beaus Mum and give them some tlc. They originate from Mexico, so are rather "hot-blooded"! The warmest spot with the most direct sunshine you can manage to find will give them the best chance of performing. I honestly consider them more of an indoor bulb for your sunniest windowsill.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Hmmm...I would love them in the front room on the west facing will, that is very sunny and warm but they would doubtless last a minute before they got knocked off by the children, I could put them up in the mantelpiece in that room, don' t know if direct enough sun, they're in dining room now, East facing not as warm, may put out June on sunny patio
Hi, I too have planted tuberose bulbs for the first time. Planted them a month ago and they have been in my growhouse all this time. However, no sign of any life yet ...am so tempted to dig and see if there're roots growing! Yes, I think I'll bring the pot in and keep it on my windowsill.
Ive planted some too a few weeks ago, mine have been outside in a pot so I don't expect I'll get much joy from them. If they need that much tlc then they are not for me so I'll just put it down to experience. Oh mine went in john innes no 2.

Mine finally put out leaves and I have now moved into the garden but just on a table, not planted, no flowers
