Best way to get rid of wild garlic?

Hi
I've got a lot of wild garlic growing into my lawn. The bulbs go really deep so I'd have to remove a lot of turf and soil to dig them out. What is the best way of getting rid of wild garlic?

Eat it.
I would have thought regular mowing would have eliminated it. Improving your drainage would help, it likes damp soil.
