Cut it off?

Not sure what this is, but do i cut the dark brown bits off? Is it hyacinth?

  • I think it is a hydrangea and yes I would cut off the old flowers. However, I am no expert, I am sure someone more informed will give you much more detailed advice. image

    Yes, cut last year's flowers off and get some rose and shrub fertiliser and sprinkle it around the base - amount according to the pack directions.  Make sure it doesn't dry out in very dry weather and  when it flowers show us a picture and we'll try to give you a bit more info.
