lilly shoot been nibbled

My lillys have just appeared with new shoots but something has nibbled the new shoot, will it just stop growing now?

    Hi mksmithy image

It all depends whether the growing point has been eaten - could you post a pic on here and we'll see if we have any clues (click on the tree icon on the toolbar above where you type yur post)

Oh!  that does look a bit extreme -  you either have ginormous slugs or there's rabbits/deer or similar chomping their way through your garden.  Has anything else been eaten?

  • nope just this so far. I think it was slugs or snails because there is a faint shiny trail around the area, the shoots literally just appeared yesterday too after planting them about just over a month ago image Is there any hope for it to continue growing?

Doesn't look very good - it depends on how much of the growing tip there is left - it's worth leaving it and waiting to see what happens - but beware giant slugs!!!
