I have lots of garden areas not tackled yet. Jack by the hedge is rampant, i think this is its 2nd year growing tall and about to flower. I assume i need to do something quick to stop it seeding?
I dont think digging/pulling it all is an option, so could cut the tops/ strim them, or weedkill them, what would work best? I am thinking strimming, as i think weedkilling before you are ready to tackle an area can be counter productive in that more weeds will appear, you have to do it again etc.

I would just strim the tops off, will prevent further seeding.

After cutting can this go on the compost or no? It was nearly in flower when cut, so no seeds yet.
Yes, if there are no seeds on it. I find it actually pulls up quite easily.
Smaller ones are easy to pull, but not when they get quite big.
My soil must be fairly loose then, I find even the bigger ones come out easily. Still a nuisance though.
