Rampant strilezia (bird of paradise)

Could anyone give me some advice on how to cut back a Strilezia which is taking over a corner of my garden outside my bedroom. Thank you.

    Bumping this up the list to see if anyone out there lives somewhere warm and sunny enough to have any experience of this.

    Strelizia reginae get to about 6ft and Strelizia nicolai get to 14ft plus. You have reginae and if you think it is too tall now then move before it gets taller.
