I grow my own birdfood.. self seeded directly under my birdfeeder! Millet, sunflowers, and whatever else the birds tossed out and started growing. I let it grow and bloom, and the birds help themselves all fall (I usually only feed spring/early summer and winter, just as it's so darn expensive).
