when do I plant runner bean seeds?

    I will do mine this weekend, indoors in root trainers.

    Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

    Sowed mine in 9cm pots a few days ago.

    I will sow mine at the end of this month indoors in trays then transplant in empty toilet rolls then plant out end of may then cover them with horticultural fleece. Don't sow them too early because they get too long.

    When I lived in Surrey I would sow direct.  They did great, far more than my little family could eat.  I would end up saving the dried beans for soup!  Far easier than fussing with hardening off/planting out/etc.
