The right hand side - the same side as the football is on...is the wooden peg concreted in? If you could dig down alongside the wood you can find out how deep it goes. *Thinking* ideally you need the right tools. Do you have a pick and sledge hammer?
Not necessarily - if you dig down alongside the wood on the left hand side, you can find out how deep it goes and if it is concreted in at the base. If it is concreted then it will be harder work yes. Is there no family who can give you a hand?
I have 2 sons and a brother, but they are hardlyever down, live miles away from me. I can have go at digging down see how far i get. You think its best to tke the wood away?
Hi christine - sorry I got sidetracked. Well you could go for the rigid pond. I've never used one but I've heard its harder because you have to dig a hole that exactly fits the shape. The beauty of a liner is that you just lay it in and its moulds to whatever you have dug.
I suppose you 'could' leave the wood there, of course its entirely up to you. If it were me though I would try and get it out because it restricts the size and shape of any pond. And if you want it for wildlife, amphibians would struggle a bit with that standing between them and the water. I think you'd be surprised just what you can achieve. I've every faith in you
Awww Fishy thank you, you are the only one that has faith in me lol, ok i will go for it, give it a go, finishing out front then moving to the pond, i will keep you updated on how it goes lol. Hope you are ready for this cos i am not lol.

How much of the wood is buried christine? You would be best taking it out if you can, that would give you a blank canvas to work with so to speak.
One side of the circle has wood set in stone if you like, it wont budge, but other side is a mess has nothing? Do you suggest try get that wood out?
