Disturbed a birds nest

Hello,

my husband been started to cut a tree back whilst I was at work today and I've come home to find that he has disturbed a nest with some little eggs in. He hasn't touched it but  has slid into a vulnerable position that is completely exposed and low enough for a cat to reach. we don't know what to do as I've heard that to touch a nest Will mean the parents abandon it. Please help image

i'd just put some gloves on and move it back if you can to near where it was, this happened to my husband whilst working on a job, they then moved it nearby and concealed it slightly with sticks etc (as it had been ) and the mother came back to it fine, it will probably depend on what type of nest it is but worth a go if a cat may get it anyway.

Husbands and cutting equipment - not a good combination. The husband of a friend has just cut back a very large Buddlia, but I'm sure it will survive. But I'm not sure the marriage will!

But this thread is a good reminder that it is not the season to do hedge-trimming or pruning where there may be bird's nests.
