Daffodils & Tulips
I planted daffodils and tulips in clumps of 6 and 8 of all different varieties in my garden and in pots and only one clump of daffodils has come into flower. There is no sign of any of the flowers, no leaves, going around the garden you wouldn't think that I'd planted any at all. Has anyone got any idea what the reason for this could be please?

Have a dig around and look to see if the bulbs are still there. Are they chewed on? Rotten? Do some investigating and then post some pictures for us to identify.
I've just been out in the garden and dug around in all places I planted the bulbs and there's no sign of them at all! That's answered my question as to why they haven't come out in flower but what could have happened to them and why?
Squirrels love digging up tulip bulbs, not sure about daffodils though. Mice can eat some bulbs too. The autumn before last I planted lots of bulbs and covered the beds with a sort of plastic rigid netting that I happened to have which prevented anything digging them up. It worked very well and I didn't lose any. I didn't bother last year as there were no new bulbs so the soil hadn't been disturbed.
I live on a small estate and there aren't any squirrels around and as for mice the poor little creatures wouldn't last long in our garden, we have two cats!
