Whats are these yellow beauties?
in Plants
I have these two lovely yellow plants that blooms in the spring in my garden of my rented house. What are they and can when is the best time to take cuttings so I can take them with me? The one with large flowers and glossy leaves is highly fragrant do I was thinking perhaps a Daphne? Thanks very much

Pictures?
Doubt very much if one is a Daphne, unless you are very very lucky. The yellow flowering Daphne do not normally survive too well outdoors in Britain.
Thanks Berghill, couldn't upload pictures from my phone, here they are.....
Kerria japonica
When you don't even know who's in the team
S.Yorkshire/Derbyshire border
and Mahonia. Lots of forms of this.
The first plant looks like Kerria (tough as old boots) and the second looks like Mahonia (fragrant & tough as old boots).
Have a look around the base of the Kerria - chances are you will find a rooted offset which you can detach from the plant and pot on.
Not sure about timing of vegetative propagating of Mahonia - do a Google search to find out. The yellow flowers will be replaced by purple bunches of fruit and you can sow the seeds contained in those.

Thank you all very much, very helpful indeed
.
(RHS site says Mahonia propagation by seed or semi hard wood cuttings.)
That looks like Mahonia aquifolia. That will seed itself without assistance
