Thanks for the link. I've just sent in mine - only one clump which arrived on Tuesday. I'm hoping for more though! The pond is less than three years old and this is the first spawn in it. I'm quite far north and quite high up, hence spawning here is a lot later than for southrons.
We have frog spawn in our pond again this year, we generally loose some to frosts - so we put a bucketful into the cold greenhouse for a week or two... We hardly ever see the frogs, just hear them from time to time.
8000wildflowers if heron are a problem to you consider adding some height... Pergola or shrub/tree planting. Heron need a flight path in, they then landing adjacent and walking into the pond. By breaking their clear flight path they can be dissuaded from troubling you. We lost a laburnum two years ago and the replacement maple is not yet up to the job - that is the only year we have had heron in the garden. (It works for us - others may have different views of course ????)
Good to know. Unfortunately with this garden my hubbie insisted on seeing a long lawn (I sectioned off our previous garden into 'rooms').
So I'm stuck a little with the design for now. He can indeed land and walk to the pond. I've grasses, rope and fishing wire everywhere around and in the pond to head Mr Heron off when he gets there, so cleaning the pond involves a bit of limbo dancing in my waders.
Of course I am gradually bringing the border flower beds closer to the centre of the garden, slowly, hoping hubbie won't notice
Hurrah! Its fascinating stuff Wildflowers. Lots of ours (you're looking at about 15 different clumps the size of dinner plates) is already starting to look less like an eye more like a... well apostrophe.
I've entered my details. Ours were laid in lots of clumps which merged together in the middle of the pond. Like Clarington's ours has all hatched and are now escaping from their jelly into the main body of the pond.
I am so jealous. Dug my pond last year, bought all the recommended plants for a wildlife pond. I then waited and waited, nothing! The one thing missing from my wildlife pond is wildlife.

I have toad spawn for the second time since the pond went in. Do toads and frogs use different ponds?

And a frog to go with it.
