Strawberry plants
in Fruit & veg
Hi,
I have been unsuccessful with strawberry plants in the past (pot grown ones both in greenhouse and in pts on deck).
When clearing out an old flowerbaed last weekens I can across a few (very healthy looking) strawberry plants. I intend to totally clear that flowerbed as I am going to pebble it, so has anyone any advice on whether it's ok to pot these up and keep in greenhouse over winter? It is not a heated greenhouse. Should I water over winter? howe often? Any tips greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

No reason why you shouldn't pot them up. Remove tatty or damaged foliage, leaving the crown. Keep lightly watered over winter - damp rather than wet - and watch out for insects.
