Mystery plant

Can anyone identify this plant/bush please towering above my pot marigolds? It's self or bird-sowed, was a foot tall last summer, survived the winter outdoors, grew another foot and is now in bud again! The flowers resemble snapdragons.

    leycesteria formosa - https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/details?plantid=1149  Attractive and can get to about 2m high and wide.

    Self seeds happily but, in my experience, doesn't survive hard winters.

    Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
