Eucalyptus tree uk
in Talkback
Hi Im new here and looking for some advise from the experts.
I have two Eucalyptus trees that are three to four years old and around twenty foot in height, over the last few months ive noticed the leaves are turning brown and very dry with alot laying on the ground. Is there anything i can do to help the trees if this is some sort of disease? My neighbour has planted a few Leylandii trees and they are growing very quick and im wondering if the roots of these are sapping the ground of "food" for my two trees? Im on the south west coast of Scotland.
If anyone could be so kind as to advise me it would be greatly appreciated, thanks

What proportion of leaves are turning brown?
In the sticks near Peterborough
It has been a dry winter and dry again recently...so I suggest watering. The leaves tend to look like that after high winds (another feature of this summer) and they tend to fall off at this time of year as new growth assumes, so nothing to worry about apart from watering.
PS, yours have grown very fast for Scotland. Mine takes 10 years to get that tall. I
Thanks for the replies, i would say about 50% of the leaves are brown and almost all of the top leaves, the new growth which is more worrying, very dry leaves and they can be snapped in half easily. I will try watering morning and night.
