Horseshoe Shaped marks on lawn

A friend of mine says she has two horseshoe shaped marks on her lawn and wonders what it is. I suspect it is a fungus that is causing it, but has anyone else experience this and how did you get rid of it?

Can you give an idea of the size? Horseshoe size or feet/yards across

Has she seen any horses..?
Ha Ha Steve - nice one - we did see two horses in the meadow on our walk - maybe she is hallucinating.
No Nut I don't know the size but she was waving her arms out quite wide when describing them!
Thanks RunnyBeak - I'll tell her to grin and bear it till it goes on its own.
That's accurate enough for me Forester
Likely to be a fairy ring but weedkillers don't work on fungi. I don't worry about them

And thanks too Nut. I will let her know. She is not too precious about her lawn so that advice will be fine
