Polytunnel raised beds

I'm preparing two raised beds for a p/t. They are some 8 inches deep. I'm double digging to add manure and fibrous material.
Just how much settlement will take place and do I need to keep a stand-by stock of soil to top the beds up ?

depends on your soil type. The heavier the soil ( ie clay soils ) the more it'll settle, but sandy light soils won't settle as much.
Grow for a season and add more in Autumn should work
