Also, don't forget to 'harden' them off prior to planting out.

How big do the shoots have to be on both the melons and cucumbers? Sorry I've never grown anything before I was so chuffed that the grew into shoots I put them back into the greenhouse and also planted some more seeds on the cucumber some of the leaves had gone white so I picked that leaf off. My herbs, tomatoes (large and cherry) and pears are doing well as is the spinach in the greenhouse, I planted potatoes and red onions, carrots and lettuce in the garden about a week and a half ago. The carrots now have small leaves but I don't see anything from the rest yet

Sow some more seeds nearer to the end of the month. Much to cold to be out.

The carrots will be ready to eat in late summer to Autumn.

Schoey ive got to give you credit, melons arent the usual choice to start with, but good for you, it seems youve got the knack, youve just put them out a bit early. Either bring the plants you already have back indoors, or start again, theres still plenty of time, i only started mine last week, i probably wont put them out til the end of may, mine will be grown in one of those plastic greenhouses, but they can be grown outside if you have a nice sheltered sunny spot image

Sounds like everything else is doing well, you might get better results with your onions if you start them off in pots in the greenhouse image

This may sound a silly question guys but seeing as you're discussing melons, how exactly do they grow??? If that makes any sense... x

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
