  I never leave them until they are 2" long as I would be nervous of damaging them. I transfer them as soon as its obvious they have germinated. About 1/8".

  I didn't have time to pot them on sooner Welshonion, they grew that quickly, but it would be more advisable to pot them on when the root's smaller.
