My husband went to Madeira and has brought me back one Coelogyne Cristata and one Orquidea Borboleta.
They look like green buds the size of a large walnut with a couple of roots sticking out of one end. Should I plant them in orchid compost and keep them in the conservatory. Any suggestions

Wonder if you could treat it a bit like a strawberry runner? And pot it up a number of weeks prior to cutting it off from the mother plant?
I don't want to be responsible for any dead babies!
Would love to see a picture of this if anyone can upload one. Does this mean that you haven't cut the stem back after the flowers have finished?
Thanks I think they are both big enough, both have two leafs and roots, I will do the larger one first and see how that goes.
