Non-flowering daffodils
in Talkback
I have planted many daffodil bulbs over the last three years in my clay-rich soil. I have a wonderful show from some and others just produce leaves. Some of the non flowering bulbs are in dappled light and others full sun. Any suggestions why please. Thanks

A few questions:
1. Do you feed the plants after flowering?
2. Do you remove the foliage before it dies back naturally?
3. Are they over crowded?
Thanks Blue Onion
1. No I don't feed the plants after flowering (what feed would they need?also I don't lift them, they've naturalised)
2. I always leave leaves to die down naturally, although I do tie down to tidy.
3. No clumps are max of 3 or 3 bulbs
Thanks for your reply
Low nitrogen feed.
Even tying the leaves is enough to stop them flowering. You are preventing the leaves from feeding the bulbs for the following season.
