Cleaning patio and paths.

I need to really clean my patio and paths etc and give them a good scrub.

They have lots of bird and hedgehog poo so needs a bit of disinfecting.I usually clean stuff up as it appears but have not really got on top of things yet.

Since there will be some run off into beds I need to use something that does not harm the plants. Most will go down the drain but I am sure some will get on the soil but hopefully not too much.

Can I use Jeyes fluid, disinfectant or something else.

Could you borrow/hire a pressure washer so that you can have a good clean up without using any chemicals.  This is one of the jobs on my list but we have to get the outside tap fixed first.

I clean my patio (tiled) with soapy water, hot or cold, and a good scrub with a brush.  Works a treat and doesn't affect anything with the run off.  Also, it doesn't leave any manky residue image

we did our garden which is mainly indian stone but which goes green over the winter really badly and a scrubbing brush just doesn't do anything, we borrowed an industrial pressure washer but you can hire them, they are amazing for cleaning everything our slabs are like new and no chemicals needed

I used to use a pressure washer on the green algae, but it does throw up a lot of muck and loosens the cement between the flags.  Now I've discovered a product called Algon that you spread very sparsely over the flags.  It smells a bit like vinegar but over the next few days the green algae fades and disappears.  Doesn't cause any harm to pets or plants.  Wonderful stuff!
