What are these?

hi there,

can anyone help me ID these four plants please?

This one was given to me by a neighbour last year. It's a bit of a thug and seems to be taking over my border so I am left wondering if it was actually a weed!

the next two were also gifts but again no idea what they are!

The last one I think may be aubretia but I'm not sure

    Hi Cidermill

Green alkanet (I'd try to get rid of it if I were you - I'd give it back to the 'friend')

    aquilegia - lovely

dog violet - lovely but make sure it doesn't spread where you don't want it

Not aubretia but my mind's gone blank for it's name - someone will ID it in a minute

The fourth one is an Aquilega of some sort (common names: Granny's Bonnet or Columbine).

I recognise the others but cannot think of their names so i will leave those for someone else!

The fourth one is lithodora diffusa star.

Yes it is Ceres image I just came indoors from the garden to say that 'cos it came to me just as I was weeding the front border

Think Madpenguin has got his/her numbering confused - it's the third photo (second plant) that's the aquilegia.

The top one is one to defiantly get rid, a nice little blue flower but that's all, it will take over .I have been using a spray on it for a while , it's a tough bugger !
